traverse city design week RETURNS OCTOBER 4-10, 2026!

ABOUT traverse city design week

Launched in 2025, TCDW is an annual week-long celebration of real, radical, local design.

Our mission is to showcase local design that solves real-world problems, fuel Northern Michigan’s design culture, and unite our interdisciplinary design community.

Whether you’re a designer or a design enthusiast, TCDW invites you to celebrate, learn, and shape the future of design in our region.

MEET Our Founders:

Jessica Kooiman Parker is a visual art curator and designer with 15 years of experience leading and building impactful cultural programs from the ground up. As Co-Founder of Kooiman Pavao Cultural, her practice balances curatorial vision with strategic thinking, drawing on experience as a small business owner, freelance designer, and creative leader to move projects from concept through execution. Over her career, she has collaborated with hundreds of artists to create exhibitions and public-facing projects that expand artist visibility, spark curiosity, and build community.

Jessica was raised in southwestern Minnesota and holds a BFA from the University of Wisconsin–Stout. Jessica led award-winning galleries in Colorado and, upon relocating to Traverse City, MI, developed the visual art program at Commongrounds, one of the nation's first co-op real estate developments. She continues to advocate for and collaborate with artists in the region by curating exhibitions within Commongrounds for The Alluvion.

Dana Lacuesta is the founder and principal designer of Dana Grace Interiors. For more than a decade, she has been creating thoughtful, enduring interiors defined by understated luxury, layered character, and a strong sense of place. Her work spans new construction, full renovations, historic restorations, boutique hospitality, and the careful art of furnishing and curation.

After leading a full-service design firm in Nashville for seven years, Dana relocated to Traverse City in 2019. She collaborates closely with a trusted network of architects, builders, and craftspeople, guiding each project with clear communication, steady creative leadership, and an editor's eye.

Her spaces balance polish with personality. Curated, collected, and unmistakably individual.
